The frame is guaranteed against manufacturing defects for a period of three years. The standard manufacturer’s warranty covers all other components.

If adequately maintained and charged per MAHLE's guidelines, the Panasonic Li-ion battery is designed to last up to 500 charging cycles without significant performance loss.

Our e-bike systems are not designed to have the battery removed, but the battery can be accessed for service through a port in the bottom bracket

No. Just like conventional bikes, pedal-assisted electric bikes don’t require you to hold a valid driver’s license, pay vehicle tax, or take out insurance.

There’s no cause for concern; being a pedal-assisted model means you are always in full control of the bike. When an assistance level is selected, the motor provides a little extra boost to amplify your pedalling efforts without ever feeling like it's taking over.

Simply plug the bike into any household power socket using the supplied charger and cable. An optional range extender can also be used to charge the main battery whilst on the move.

The X20 system's electric components are IP57-rated. They are safe to use in adverse weather conditions and are protected against splashing but not total immersion in rivers, streams, and fords. When transported outside a vehicle, a waterproof cover should be used to protect the electrical components from water ingress. As with any bike, we recommend thoroughly cleaning and drying it after any wet weather ride to maintain its peak performance.

Since the £1000 limit was lifted, all e-bikes are now available to purchase via all the major Cycle to Work scheme providers. However, we advise that you check if your employer is happy before purchasing one of these bikes.

The Allroad SLR e is centred on the MAHLE X20 system, which is lighter and more powerful than its predecessor, the X35. It also delivers the added convenience of updating firmware directly from your smart device.

Battery range depends upon several variable factors, including rider weight, route profile, tyre pressure and ambient temperature, to name but a few. However, our in-house testers have successfully ridden a distance of 125km, including 1400m of climbing on the Enthusiast edition while MAHLE’s stated range is 140km.

Absolutely. With builds starting from just 11.8kg, you may often ride more than this speed. The motor will only assist you up to 15mph, and you will be wholly reliant on your leg power above these speeds. If you drop back below 15mph, the motor will automatically re-engage if an assistance mode is still selected.

Another advantage of the X20 versus the preceding X35 system is that it features thru-axles at the front and rear. Therefore, the process of repairing a puncture is no different from that of any other bike that uses this system. Simply remove the thru axle with an Allen key, take out the wheel, and repair your puncture as normal.

Enhanced cable integration provides our bikes with a clean, cable-free look, with all cables fully hidden and protected from the elements and away from airflow.

The Allroad SL R e is supplied with a durable 32mm road-focused tyre but is designed to accommodate up to a 38mm tyre. It is also fully mudguard compatible with 32mm tyres fitted using the hidden mounts.

Though we recommend a 35mm tyre size, we have successfully fitted Challenge Gravel Grinder 700x38mm tyres to the Allroad SLR e. However, it should be noted that these are intended for light gravel use, and the clearance may prove insufficient for tyres with a more aggressive tread profile.

Our exclusive mudguard and pannier conversion kit allows you to mount a pannier rack to carry your belongings (kit available as an optional upgrade only).

A removable mudguard conversion kit allows full-length mudguards to be fitted, helping to fend off dirt and surface spray for improved rider comfort when the weather is less than perfect (the kit is available as an optional upgrade only).
