Developed specifically for the Ultra SL R, the Ultra Aero carbon integrated bars feature a patent-pending design that represents a giant leap forward in aerodynamic integration. The innovative wake generating concept disrupts the airflow, creating a wake for the rider's legs to sit within, manipulating vortexes around the rider to further enhance airflow. An aggressive looking and drag-defying anatomic wing top section further enhances the bars aero credentials. It’s not all about the aero, however, with all-day ride comfort also at the forefront of design. The flat-top section also providing a comfortable hand position for climbing, whilst ergonomically optimised drops conform to the natural curvature of the rider’s palm and feature a textured finish that doesn't require bar tape.

The Ultra Aero seat post features a truncated aerofoil profile that is aerodynamically optimised to reduce drag in the high-speed airflow disturbed by the rider's leg. A composite shaft absorbs road shocks for vibration-smoothing ride quality, further enhanced by a Selle Italia SLR Boost 3D Kit Carbonio Superflow saddle, featuring a 3D-printed surface designed to maximise comfort and performance and a superflow cut-out for increased flexibility and airflow

Frequently Asked Questions

The Toray T1000/T800 carbon frame weighs 1200g and the forks 580g, for a combined total weight of 1780g (size medium). Approximate build weights are Sport - 8.25kg, Enthusiast - 8.20kg, Hero - 7.8kg.

Similarly to the SL, the Ultra SL R's construction features a bespoke blend of T1000 and T800 carbon fibres. However, the SL R features more T1000 fibre within its layup, allowing for a slight weight reduction without compromising its strength, stiffness, or structural integrity.

The frame is guaranteed against manufacturing defects for a period of 3 years. The standard manufacturer's warranty covers all other components.

Not in the traditional sense. The aggressive profile of the bars prevents compatibility with models of extensions currently available. However, we have developed a suitable alternative in the shape of the Ultra Aero Extensions. Exclusive to the Ultra SL R, these carbon extensions bolt into the underside of the handlebars, making use of the 2 mounting points that would normally be reserved for an out-front computer mount. Anyone wanting to mount a cycle or GPS computer can simply mount it to the extensions themselves.

The Ultra SL R has a 68mm BSA threaded bottom bracket shell, allowing for ease of maintenance and enhanced reliability.

Cycling's governing body has approved our SL R frameset for competition in UCI-sanctioned events. However, the disc brake adaptor for the front forks must be swapped out for the alternative version supplied with the bike. Failure to follow these guidelines when competing in events carried out under UCI regulations may result in disqualification.

Yes. The Ultra SL R carbon integrated handlebars, in combination with the frameset, enable all the cables to be fully hidden, preserving the Ultra's super sleek lines for maximum drag savings.

The frame is aero-optimised around 28mm tyres and can accommodate 32mm (manufacturer dependant).

All standard bottle cages and bottles are compatible; the Ultra SL R is optimised to actually be faster with a bottle and cage fitted than without.

Two. One is situated on the down tube and one on the seat tube.

The frame requires M12x125mmx1.5 and M12x173mmx1.5 front and rear thru-axles.

Due to the Ultra SL R being a speed-centric aero bike, there aren't any integrated mudguard mounts.

We recommend a maximum rider plus bike weight of 120kgs.

Absolutely. However, the aerodynamic profile of the top portion of the handlebar makes finding compatible lights and computers difficult. To overcome this, we've designed the handlebars to accept any compatible out-front computer, which bolts into the underside of the handlebars.

Due to the many different systems people use, we don't supply pedals with bikes. However, you can choose from a selection of the best-selling pedals when you configure your bike.
